    • Tutorial: Perspectives on Classification of Magnetism

      Monday, January 13
      2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

An introduction to magnetism typically classifies magnets based on the interactions and alignment between spins.  However, in recent decades, there have been a number of new types of magnetism that have been discovered.  This tutorial will focus on different perspectives for classifying magnets, beyond the typical framework, with a focus on different types of symmetry (for example, crystallographic, time reversal, translational, etc.).
